Lina Alipbayeva

Hi everyone! My name is Lina, I’m a second-year Civil Engineering student with a minor in Environmental Engineering, and I’d love to be your next Welfare Officer for the Energy Society.

I’m a very easy-going and approachable person who naturally prioritises others, and I really value creating environments where people feel comfortable, supported, and included. University can get pretty intense sometimes, so I think it’s really important that societies are also spaces where people can relax, connect with others, and take a break from the stress of coursework.

If elected, I’d focus on helping create a friendly and supportive atmosphere within the society. I’d love to organise relaxed events like study sessions during exam season, coffee catch-ups, wellbeing walks, and low-pressure socials where members can meet each other and build genuine connections.

I’d also work closely with the rest of the committee to make sure events feel welcoming and accessible for everyone, whether you’re a long-time member or just joining the society for the first time.

Energy is a really exciting field, but strong communities make societies truly great. I’d love to help make the Energy Society a place where people feel supported, connected, and happy to be involved.

I’d really appreciate your vote! ⚡
