Sophie Orgler

I would love to be Welfare Officer for DermSoc because I’ve been on the committee for the past two years and have seen how important it is to create a supportive, welcoming environment for everyone involved. I care about making sure members feel included and comfortable, especially during busy or stressful periods.

As Welfare Officer, I’d focus on promoting open communication, organising simple wellbeing-focused initiatives, and helping maintain the positive, friendly atmosphere that makes DermSoc such a great society to be part of!

Isabelle Mary Bisgood

Hello! My name is Izzy and I am running for the role of Welfare Officer this year because I believe the Dermatology Society has a great opportunity to promote wellbeing alongside academic interest in the specialty. Dermatology is closely linked to confidence, self-care and overall wellbeing, and I would love to help create events that reflect this.

If elected, I would aim to organise relaxed socials that allow members from different year groups to connect, alongside wellbeing-focused events such as beginner skincare workshops covering topics like building a simple skincare routine, managing common student concerns like acne or eczema, and the importance of sun protection. I would also be interested in inviting dermatology trainees or clinicians to give talks on skin health and how lifestyle, stress and sleep can impact the skin.

Overall, my goal would be to help create a friendly, supportive society where students can learn more about dermatology while also engaging with the wellbeing side of skin health.
