Hello everyone!

I’d love to run for General Secretary. Rangeela Bhangra has genuinely been the best part of my three years at university. What started as a hobby quickly became something I’m obsessed with: the people, the energy, the music, and that dopamine rush after rehearsals and performances - nothing beats that feeling. Bhangra’s also taught me that no matter your level, there’s always room to improve, and I’d love to help more people discover that same empowering feeling. Bhangra Soc has given me so much confidence and I want to give back by helping it grow even bigger. I’d focus on bringing in new faces to weekly sessions (and rangs too if possible!), especially people who’ve never tried Bhangra before, and making sure everyone feels welcomed and encouraged from day 1.

Through academic committees, Hindu Society, and my role as Sanskaar Officer, I’ve gained experience keeping teams organised and supportive - from social media and marketing to creating resources for students. I think this translates well to General Secretary: maintaining structure, supporting the committee and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. A good team doesn’t just happen - it takes consistent effort to actively include everyone and support one another.

Most importantly, I care a lot about the society and keeping that supportive, wholesome energy alive. If elected, I’ll bring the same dedication and passion I have for Bhangra into the role. Let’s make next year even more iconic!
