Karting Club: Welfare Officer

Hi, I'm Sam and I am the current acting Welfare Officer for the UCL Karting Society.

After a successful year as Welfare Officer, I am eager to carry on helping this society grow and to keep being a welcoming place for all students. Over the past year we have greatly increased the frequency of our events and so in turn the amount of new people attending them. When I first joined the society, I had only just moved to London and had never been karting before. So I know the feeling of being lost when you turn up to your first event, but as welfare officer I, alongside my fellow committee members, have created a safe environment for those new faces, especially the ones who hadn't been karting before, and made sure they enjoyed themselves and were eager to come back to more events.  

Next year, we have many more new and exciting events planned and I want to continue making each and every event as welcoming as possible. I want to continue meeting new people and helping them discover their passion for karting. And I want to continue to nurture this society into something incredible.
