I’m standing for the role of Publicity Officer because I’m genuinely passionate about both design and the vibrant community that’s been built within the society. Being part of K-pop Soc has been a highlight of my first year at uni — the events, the people, and even just scrolling through the Instagram page have made me feel more connected and excited to get involved and I’d love the opportunity to contribute back to the society.

I’ve had experience handling publicity and promotions in high school, where I designed posters, programs, and social media content for our school plays. I loved the creative process and the satisfaction of seeing people get hyped for events through the materials I created. This makes me eager to take on the responsibility of handling the society’s social media, merch, and promotional content.

I understand the role comes with tight deadlines and constant communication, but honestly, I think that’s part of what excites me. I’m practically glued to my phone, so staying on top of DMs, updates, and deadlines would not be an issue. Plus, being in the committee would mean I’d always be in the loop about what’s happening — which sounds like the best mix of working hard and keeping up with the society tea.

I’m organized, creative, and thrive in fast-paced environments. Whether it's designing a thumbnail for the YouTube channel or coordinating with tech officers for a showcase, I’m ready to put in the work to make sure everything runs smoothly.

As a committed society member, I believe effective publicity is key to the engagement and belonging of a society. With an interest in creativity and media, I am confident in elevating the society’s presence to the student body.

Official social media pages of K-pop groups inspired me to run for publicity officer. Their comeback promotions and overall marketing strategies are so clever! It struck me that publicity is more than just announcements but also about creating excitement and community. I want to project a vibrant, friendly and inclusive spirit through social media, ensuring freshers feel welcomed and thrilled to join, while fostering membership so students in any year feel connected. If possible, I would love to create new merch, such as bags and banners designed specifically to resonate with the cast of our showcases.

I was part of the student union in high school, where I received positive feedback on communication, time management, and organisation skills through running events. Therefore, I am certain that I can make a valuable contribution to the society. I hope to take on the role as publicity officer, designing promotions and strengthening our society. Though there will be challenges, I look forward to the worthwhile rewards that come while giving my best to promote the society!
