Aishwarya Bandaru

Hi, I am Aish, running for the Vice President position at TechSoc! I spent the previous summer leading a global team of 7 to organise an online tech for good conference in schools in India. This involved hosting speakers, obtaining sponsorships and coordinating workshops for a 400+ attendance. I am prepared to bring my leadership experience, fresh ideas and enthusiasm to this role. If elected, I will:

  1. Organise and launch TechSoc’s very first conference. The tech scene is massive with the option to work in FinTech, AR/VR, Cybersecurity and numerous other sectors. What better way to learn about the opportunities available than a themed event which connects you to industry experts across these different fields?
  2. Start a mentorship scheme for members. I know first-hand how beneficial a mentor can be, from answering questions about their career journey to helping you reflect on your progress and goals. By being matched to a mentor working in a technical role (e.g., Software Engineering, Data Science) or non-coding role (e.g., Product Management), you’ll have a chance to find the job role that’s right for you and gain a point of call for your professional development!
  3. Support the committee in hosting regular socials, speaker events and workshops to foster a vibrant TechSoc community and, most importantly, bring you a bigger and better annual hackathon next year!

Keen to see these in action? I’d appreciate it if you could vote for me!
