Rishi Pingili

After thoroughly enjoying Indian Soc events across the year ,especially Jashn, I wanted to play a more integral role to the society ,and help support the events taking place next year making them bigger and better than ever. I believe I have the technical and social skills required to fulfil this role and look forward to being able to work with the rest of committee to bring promotional events to the rest of you.

Siddarth Anand Nayar

Hi my name is Sid- I am a first year studying Maths and CS and I’m running for the position of Marketing Officer. Having attended nearly every event hosted by Indian Soc this year, I want the freshers of next year to have similar experiences as I had this year. Be it Dhamaal, Jashn or the club nights, every event was organised and executed perfectly. I hope to contribute to the committee and help make next year’s events as memorable.

In my opinion, the marketing position is quite an important one, and I think I will be ideal for the role because of my experience as part of the leadership strand and sales team for events in my sixth form. With the help of social media, I hope to maximise our outreach and ensure the Indian Soc events are always oversold. Using the Jashn TikTok as an exemplar, I want to make every promotional video and poster entertaining and engaging so as to make the events well known in all the unis around London.

To conclude, I am proud to be a member of Indian Soc and I will do everything in my power to help it grow immensely. As Marketing officer I will ensure next year’s events are bigger than ever before.

Eeshaan Ghanekar

I am excited to be applying for the Marketing officer role for UCL Indian society. This role is the perfect intersection between content creation, marketing, and Indian culture; 3 aspects of my life that I am very passionate about. I look forward to implementing my skills to increase awareness and boost engagement within an already rapidly growing and established society.

As a content creator on YouTube and TikTok, I have developed my creativity and communication skills, helping me amass over 7000 followers on TikTok. My camera confidence and proficiency in video editing will enable me to take on challenges such as creating promotional videos for events such as Dhamaal and Jashn. Not only will this boost ticket sales and engagement within members of the society, it will also showcase the diverse range of activities and events conducted by the Indian society to members of the peripheral UCL community and even external media.

Furthermore, as someone born in India and continuing to remain in touch with Indian culture, language and heritage, I am thrilled by the idea of being part of a committee of such a diverse society with the goal of preserving Indian culture. As a member of my school's medical society committee, I have developed the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members and follow instructions.

If chosen, I will hone my creativity, passion and collaborative ability to make a positive impact on the Indian Society and produce excellent content.

Shefali Prasad

Hi, I’m Shefali and I’m a first year Mechanical Engineering student. My experience at UCL so far would be incomplete without the events organised by Indian Society, namely the Simmons Bar Social, Jashn and the club nights. Therefore, I am applying for the role of marketing officer as I appreciate the importance of these events in shaping people’s experience at UCL. Taking on the role of Finance Director of my Young Enterprise team taught me how to create aesthetic, yet comprehensive, infographics to relay information clearly. Additionally, I have been developing my graphic design skills through web design projects, which have now further been improved as I’ve frequently been using CAD for my degree. My participation in design challenges, such as Imperial College’s ‘Maker Challenge’, are a clear indication of my passion for innovation and design. I therefore believe my creativity, coupled with my social media aptitude, can help design bold visuals for our Instagram page and engaging ideas for Tik Toks, in efforts to ensure our events sell out in the coming year! Balancing the impossible workload that comes with university, sports and participating in a cultural fashion show has allowed me to collaborate with a range of individuals and learn to manage my time effectively. These are skills which I believe are vital traits of a successful marketing officer, and I look forward to putting in my best efforts to maintain the values of the society and expand our social media presence.

Aryan Jain

Throughout the year, I had an incredible time attending the Indian society events. I'd like to take a more active role in the community and help bring upcoming events to the next level. I am confident in my social and marketing abilities to support and enhance these events, and I am excited to collaborate with the rest of the committee to achieve this.
