Hello! I’m Anushka, and am an Economics student. During my time at UCL, I have immensely enjoyed events and socials held by the Hindu Society, and wish to pay it forward by helping the society grow. For this reason, I am running for the position of Welfare Officer.
If elected as Welfare Officer, I will:
- Be the first point of contact for all members, and provide assistance regarding any individual or society-related issues.
- Increase member engagement by helping organise more events and smoothening communication between members and committee
- Represent the views of members in committee discussions
- Create a safe, collaborative and supportive environment within the society
Having launched my school’s first Economics Club, I developed strong communication, social and event-organising skills. I am ambitious, committed to the cause and receptive to others' ideas and suggestions. By working closely with the team, I hope to make your experience at Hindu Society more engaging and memorable.
Hey everyone, I’m Radha and I study History, Politics and Economics and I’d love to take on the role of Welfare Officer!
Having an incredible time as part of Hindu Society this year has made me want to ensure other people experience that sense of belonging regardless of their background.
Events like Rangeela and Diwali Ball this year, have made me appreciate the amazing community that Hindu society. As Welfare Officer, I want to ensure that events cater to everyone, bigger events as well as more informative and laid back events. A society is shaped by its members, so including the suggestions and thoughts of people within the society is something I would prioritise as Welfare Officer.
Working in acting and theatre in my spare time means I meet a lot of new people, so I’d like to think I’m someone that’s friendly. I’d be someone in the committee that people could come too for support and to share any thoughts. Working in acting has required me to have good communication and organisational skills which I could use to ensure things run smoothly within the society and also help the rest of the Committee.
I’d love to be Welfare Officer to ensure that the environment of Hindu society continues to be a fun escape and welcoming place for everyone. With your vote, to be honest, I just want to make sure that everyone continues to love being part of this amazing community.
