Election post
I am a first-year Media student running for Marketing and Social Media officer for the Turkish Society. Leaving my country for the first time this year, I feel culturally more connected, and I want to be a part of the Society to represent our cultural values in the UCL community.
I believe I am the perfect fit for this role as I have been the head of the social media department of UCL Cultured Minds. My part consisted of creating and designing social media posts and stories promoting volunteer recruitment to other UCL students. We also created materials to promote discussion forums and workshops to students from other London universities.
At high school, I have also been the Broadcasting and Executive member of our school’s live streaming and social media club, ACI Live TV. We shared the events held on the campus through social media platforms with students, families, and graduates. In addition, I prepared and created content and VTRs for special occasions and our YouTube channel. Besides, in summer 2020, completing an entry-level internship at Bloomberg TV, I had the opportunity to improve my marketing skills alongside my media skills.
