Marketing has been a great part of my life outside the classroom. In the past year, I interned at a PR and advertising agency and also took on the role of Marketing Executive at the UCL TEDx Society. Such experiences have equipped me with the various skills necessary for this role, ranging from the more technical side of things such as digital design and social media management to interpersonal skills such as communication and collaboration. Moreover, my role as faculty representative has taught me the importance of listening to feedback and acting on them to make positive changes. This is something I aim to achieve in every role I take on. 

 

The past year with TEDx has been an extremely fulfilling one. Not only was I able to help organise the largest university-based TEDx conference in the UK and raise awareness on climate solutions, but I also had the chance to meet like-minded people and form amazing friendships. Being a part of this society is valuable as it allows me to work on something I am passionate about, marketing, while drawing attention to important topics. I want to do my own bit in helping the society grow, providing a safe space for all students to share their opinions. As the Marketing Director, I strive to promote UCL TEDx Society’s initiatives to more students by making use of different marketing platforms, producing new and creative marketing content, as well as forming collaborations with other societies and organisations.
