Academic Reps do one of the most important jobs in the Union - they make sure you have a voice in your education.
Each month, we’re featuring your reps and the work they’re doing to make UCL better. If you have an idea about how to improve your course, your department or UCL you can contact your own Academic Rep using our Find Your Rep page.
January's Academic Rep of the Month: Junzhe Gu
Junzhe has been a dedicated Lead Rep and has impressed us with her leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. She has taken charge of creating feedback questionnaires for courses, providing constructive feedback to lecturers, and creating a student discussion group. In this discussion group, over 40 students attended, and they benefited from academic assistance and interaction between the three years of BA Education students. Most importantly, this discussion group was able to foster an understanding on issues between staff members and students.
Here's a bit more about Junzhe:
Hi, I am Junzhe Gu, a BA Education Studies first-year student rep. I am delighted to be a student rep and have the opportunity to help and support others with their studies and life on campus at UCL. I am also fortunate to have gained friendships and experience from working as a student rep. I will continue to have a passion for student rep and fulfill my role.
In addition to being a student rep, I enjoy traveling and volunteering. I have traveled to over 40 cities and towns in the UK during my time here and have been involved in and organized various volunteer and charity events. I hope that through my efforts, I can bring more hope and possibilities to the world
