Academic Reps do one of the most important jobs in the Union - they make sure you have a voice in your education.

Each month, we’re featuring your reps and the work they’re doing to make UCL better. If you have an idea about how to improve your course, your department or UCL you can contact your own Academic Rep using our Find Your Rep page.

April's Academic Rep of the Month: Sianne Chinwuba

Sianne has impressed us with the work she has done both as a Course and Faculty representative. Notably Sianne started an initiative called ‘W is for Wednesday wins’ where students on her course get to share something that they have accomplished during the week on an online platform. This initiative stood out to us because during a stressful term we often forget to celebrate the small wins. Sianne has also made sure to create a community within her course by suggesting hangouts or communicating with them on a personal and on a group level. From numerous SSCC proposals to hosting two faculty social events, Sianne has been a stellar Course and Faculty representative.

Here's a bit more about Sianne:

Hiya! I'm Sianne, a course and faculty rep, studying a full-time MSc in Women's Health.

For the past couple of months, I've had the great privilege to serve as the academic representative. This role has challenged me in various ways and has helped enhance my communication, leadership, and organisation skills.

I've always been extremely excited and passionate about the well-being of everyone around me. I have an itching and burning desire to inspire, care for, love and support people as I believe that it is one of my purposes and to be able to have other students' voices be heard and to make changes occur, whether big or small, is an honour.

Outside of university, I am a qualified professional life coach, mentor, blogger and a nurse, who is passionate about dance, writing, TV, film and content creating!

Above all, I genuinely just want to make a positive impact and contribute towards a change with a burst of energy and a sprinkle of hope.
