This could be a charity fundraiser, internal activities, or a collaboration with other networks, societies or clubs to improve LGBTQ+ equity or campus presence. In particular, they will:

  • Organise at least one campaign for year
  • Document the process, outcome, and feedback surrounding the campaign
  • Communicate with SU officers, sabbaticals, and reps to create impactful campaigns

Candidates

Camille Py (she/her)
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope to contribute to the Women's Network's development through the organisation of events on women's issues and the implementation of policies contributing to the creation of a safe learning environment.

I am particularly interested in women's health, both physical and psychological. To this day, women's health is still underresearched & disregarded, which translates into women's health, their professional and private lives. By working in the Women's Network, I hope to bring light to these issues and provide local solutions. I also hope to develop events on intersectionality.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I have a broad range of interests concerning women's rights and issues: while I am doing research on the prevention of sexual violences through sexual education, I am also interested in the intersection between queer theory, feminism, and ecology, and I am constantly trying to learn more about women's rights, issues, their history and diverse experiences.

I have experience in developing and organising projects: in my first year of university I helped develop a cultural project aimed at children, which involved setting up two exhibitions and organising guided visits of these exhibitions.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Not only am I passionate about women's issues in a diversity of sectors, I am dynamic and creative, and will try my best to develop new initiatives supporting the women in UCL!

One the one hand, I would like to plan some events in partnership with UCL's societies, in order to make both the academic and the associative life of UCL more inclusive and mindful of the challenges faced by women and minorities.

On the other hand, I hope to develop projects aimed at improving women's daily lives: career workshops, period poverty policies, activism workshops...
