Having faced mental health challenges during my studies and taking three years out before returning to achieve a First-Class Psychology degree, I understand first-hand how vital student representation and wellbeing support are. Overcoming three mental health disorders independently taught me resilience, empathy, and the importance of compassion. These experiences shaped my passion for mental health advocacy and inclusion. As your representative, I will strive to ensure every student in the Faculty of Brain Sciences feels heard, supported, and empowered to reach their potential.
If elected, I aim to strengthen wellbeing support and communication between students and staff, ensuring every postgraduate feels understood, supported, and valued. I want to create a safe, inclusive space where students can speak openly about their challenges and access the right help without fear or stigma. I will advocate for greater mental health awareness, peer support initiatives, and collaboration within the Faculty of Brain Sciences, promoting an environment that empowers all students—academically, emotionally, and personally—to reach their full potential.
Students should vote for me because I know what it feels like to struggle and feel unseen within the university system. I’ve faced mental health challenges that forced me to pause my studies, and I understand first-hand how the system can sometimes fail to support those who need it most. Yet I came back stronger, completing my Psychology degree with First-Class Honours. I want to use that experience to make sure no student feels left behind—to create a community where everyone feels heard, supported, and empowered to succeed, no matter what they’re going through.
I’m Aleks, a current Civil Engineering Student Rep and Senior Mentor, so I know how meetings run and what actually helps students. I listen first: I run quick polls, hold regular drop-ins and gather honest feedback. I’m approachable, organised and pragmatic, I turn problems into clear, realistic asks for staff and follow up until students see practical improvements. I’ll make sure your voice is heard and acted on.
I’ve already delivered changes as Civil Engineering Student Rep, standardised feedback, clearer deadlines and fairer group-work. If elected I’ll scale these across the Faculty with simple feedback templates, transparent rubrics showing mark breakdowns, centralised deadline guidance and better tools for tracking group contributions. I’ll set short-term targets, share progress updates, and keep asking students for quick feedback so changes actually help.
Vote for me because I listen, act and follow through. As Student Rep and Senior Mentor I’ve turned student concerns into real fixes, faster feedback, fairer assessments and clearer communication. I’m approachable (regular drop-ins and short anonymous polls), pragmatic (small changes that cut stress) and accountable (I’ll publish short meeting notes and progress updates). I’ll use your feedback to prioritise what matters most to students.
I bring structured thinking, intelligent design, and people sense to this role. Having led before as school pupil leader and university student council rep, I know how to turn feedback into action—not just paperwork. I'm equal parts strategist and listener: sharp with systems, soft with people. I notice what slows things down, fix it quietly, and make outcomes seamless. It's about recognising patterns early—spotting the loose ends before they unravel. Over time, I've learned to read the fine print of how things work, and make them work better.
My goal is to make everyday student experience more intuitive. That means fixing small things that quietly drain your time and energy— because they add up. I'll tackle the study-space overcrowding issues so finding a decent spot to work isn't a daily hunt. At student cafes, I'll push for a QR-based instant feedback system, so you can share suggestions or flag what's missing, your input directly shaping what's served. Until room allocations are fully optimised, a one-tap "Today's Class & Location" bar on your UCLGo app, so you're not juggling apps when in a rush.
I'm running for Faculty Rep because I want to make your life smoother in real, visible ways. No fluffy promises, no noise, just strategic fixes. The kind of changes you can actually feel: in faster responses, clearer systems, and a campus experience that runs smarter. I'll build tighter feedback loops, ensure quicker resolutions, and help everyday postgraduate life feel less like juggling tabs— and more like a single, well-run page.
I'll handle the friction so you can glide. And when things get too intense we'll reset over matcha because sometimes the smartest strategy is just taking a breather
I’ve served as first-year Academic Rep and as a transition mentor, so I’m a go-to point of contact on academics. I listen, act on feedback, and know the people, processes and pain-points. I’ve worked with students and staff to improve assignment scheduling, organise socials, and resolve issues. Classmates message me first; I summarise clearly, escalate to module leads, and deliver calm comms, quick follow-ups and practical fixes.
My goals reflect students’ priorities, to name a few: more study and workshop space, better ventilation (Bartlett 6th floor), and more charging points. I’ll push for a booking system within 22 Gordon Street so everyone has a place to work; clearer marking criteria; and easier access to UCL East facilities (photo/lighting studios, 3D scanning, material labs) with transparent how-to guides. Expect termly “you said—we did” updates and cross-cohort events that boost and wellbeing and foster valuable connections.
I care deeply about improving our education and have already delivered change. I’m approachable and persistent: I turn complaints into actions—then report back. You’ll feel quick wins this term (space, access, deadline clarity) while I work with staff on longer-term fixes like fair assessments and accessible facilities. You’ll always know what I’m working on and how to reach me - unless I'm busy saving Gotham City.
I bring strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills from my academic and professional experiences in finance and management. Working in roles from auditing at KPMG to founding my startup has taught me to listen, identify challenges, and deliver practical solutions. These experiences strengthened my teamwork and leadership, which I will use to represent postgraduate students effectively. I am proactive, approachable, and committed to ensuring every student’s voice is heard and valued.
If elected, I aim to strengthen connections between postgraduate students and the faculty through open and consistent communication. I want to ensure academic and well-being concerns are heard and addressed, while encouraging collaboration and networking across programs to build a stronger community. Drawing on my management and leadership experience, I will work with faculty to improve academic support, feedback systems, and career development opportunities for all PGT students.
Students should vote for me because I am approachable, proactive, and committed to representing their voices. With experience in leadership, management, and problem-solving, I can effectively identify issues and work with faculty to implement meaningful solutions. I am dedicated to improving the postgraduate experience by fostering communication, support, and a stronger sense of community among students.
