Thank you for considering my application :) Having been part of the Paediatric Surgery Subcommittee for the last 2 years, I've helped bring in a multitude of speakers to talk through unique paediatric surgery cases! My passion is paediatric oncology, and I've hosted an international conference for the British Oncology National Undergraduate Society and completed a Paediatrics and Child Health iBSc.

This year, I hope to accomplish much more:

  1. Exposure to Paediatric Surgery
    • Our paediatric teaching involves 1 module and a paediatric iBSc. If you missed these opportunities, then chiming into our talks will help you learn more about this niche subject
    • We will contact surgeons globally to speak to us. This is an incredible opportunity to learn from these amazing speakers and ask for personal advise
  2. Create a community to encourage people who’ve
    • a) always wanted to do surgery
    • b) are questioning whether surgery is for them
    • c) never considered surgery before
    • so, we can talk to experienced surgeons, SHOs and junior doctors on HOW and WHY they decided to go down this career path. Their wisdom can help guide our choices.
  3. Signpost activities and lectures so we can expand our portfolios
    • Whether it’s sharing a talk in another university, to collaborating with other societies to host a virtual/in person event, I want to ensure that you leave this year with a community of fellow aspiring paediatric surgeons and full to the brim with specialist knowledge!
