I’ve attended SFFS for a whole year, and have really grown to appreciate each and every person who I’ve met, and all the experiences we have shared together. Therefore, I am running because I simply like the society, and want to do so!
That being said, I do also think I’m a qualified candidate who would do a good job:
- Im a familiar face to people of the society, and have strived to make everyone feel as welcome as possible by being approachable.
- I’m mostly organized
- Since I’m a student rep, I’m knowledgeable on what support is on offer to students, and how to help connect students with help!
- I genuinely care about the people at the society.
- I don’t care about doing this for my CV because I already have a job.
For me, this is my opportunity to give back to a community that has already given me so much- it’s time for me to return the favour.

Hi, I'm Matthew.
Many of you will know me for always being evil in Blood on the Clocktower, and some of you may know me for my morally questionable actions in RPGs, but I can assure you I am marginally better in real life.
On a more serious note, I would love to be this society's next welfare officer, and so here are some reasons why I would make a great welfare officer.
First of all, I have prior experience with welfare related positions, and so I know what to expect from the role and how to approach the responsibilities it entails. During my time at secondary school, I had 3 student welfare positions overall, in which I was a point of contact for student facing any difficulties in the school. My training for and experience with those positions, is what makes me a great fit for the welfare officer position.
Secondly, I am very committed to the society, and so I will always be around to help out with any issues people have. This academic year I haven't missed a single weekly event (unless you count those between terms), and I hope to do the same next year. I believe that this makes me a great candidate because my high attendance would help society members get to know me quickly, and so feel more comfortable bringing welfare issues to me.
Finally, I would make sure to go above and beyond with the position. I believe that it is vital that the welfare officer is proactive and would make sure to regularly check up on how people are doing.
In conclusion, I have really enjoyed my time in this society, and it has really helped me,
