School of European Languages and Culture Society (SELCS): President

Hey everyone! I am Danilo :) I was on the committee this year and next year I plan to:

1.) Create a buddy scheme so that first year students can be paired with students in higher years so that they can receive support in their studies

2.) Apply for the UCL Welfare Fund for the society in order to purchase pronoun badges and disability lanyards in order to help our members

3.) Run regular socials, such as "Biscuit and Chat" drop ins and other fun events, such as Kahoot nights, "Guess the Language" quizzes, movie nights, donut socials, board games sessions, pub socials and more!

4.) Organise collabs with other societies, universities and networks so that our members can make more friends and connections (such as SSEES Society, Cultural societies, the LGBTQ+ Network and other groups)

5.) Organise a Pen-pal scheme so that members can connect with people SELCS countries and improve their language skills and make new friends around the continent (and beyond)

6.) Invite UCL lecturers and external speakers to give talks on both interesting topics and also career opportunities for our members to develop

I have been on the committee of many UCL societies and have led many led many of them and thus I have the experience necessary to lead the SELCS Society and make it as amazing as it can be. I will collect regular feedback and try to cater the society to make as many of our members happy and supported.
