Maria Do Mar Valente De Almeida Sineiro Vau

Hi, my name is Maria and I have been at UCL for two years now. After a friend suggested I get a show at Rare, I haven't looked back. I have met some incredible people through the society and developed a new hobby. Safe to say, I had a great experience. As such, I want  to help out next year to keep it going and to keep it providing a space for people to learn and experiment with music, and meet new people. I am running for treasurer to help address the funding issues we have been having. This has affected the society significantly, as we haven't been able to replace damaged equipment required for shows, resulting in closures. I have experience in being part of past societies, as VP and social secretary. Although being Treasurer would be a new role, these past roles have given me experience in helping run a society smoothly, organizing events, managing budgets, and communicating effectively with other parties.
