Election post
Being apart of the pole committee this past year has brought me great joy. As freshers rep, I've enjoyed learning about how societies in universities are run; doing my bit to help out with showcases and open practice as much as I have been capable. I feel as though I have successfully established myself within this society, and I am eager to continue to help this club run!
As I am now more comfortable within UCL and this committee, I am ready to take on a role that will require greater responsibility.
I believe that my profound interpersonal and writing skills will be necessary for this position. I understand that being secretary will require me to act as head of communication - as an individual who has vast experience in hospitality, I am able to articulate myself well to ensure good correspondence amongst teams. During my time as an intern for my local MP, I was required to organise and send emails to constituents. This enhanced my writing abilities which I believe will be useful for newsletters.
The fixed responsibilities of writing minutes and newsletters appeals to me. As someone who often struggles with their mental health, established routinely duties will be manageable for me and I feel confident that the committee will be able to depend on me. I also would like to believe that I bring an enjoyable, loving and supportive atmosphere to this committee - I felt a strong sisterhood/sibling-hood this past year and have learnt so much from my peers. This club has my heart!
