Election post
Hey Everyone!
Pi has a long record of strong journalism, raising awareness of what is going on around campus. It is this sense of belonging and community that I wish to uphold in the role.
Having led Kinesis for the past two years, it has been a privilege to transform the society into a space which is welcome for all. We have been shortlisted twice for Diversity at the Arts Awards and our commitments to the wider community netted us our first shortlisting at the SPA in years. I would want to build off this work and ensure every member of Pi gets the same opportunities. Whether this is through talks, events or launch parties, ensuring we have a cohesive environment where everyone feels welcomed.
I wish to make lasting changes that can support all our members throughout the year. Providing online links for those who are on placements to join meetings and, to ensure every room we book is accessible to all through step free access or suitable adjustments. Additionally, I would want to make changes to print and our online articles, using larger fonts and ensuring our material is accessible for anyone, regardless of their health status. I will endeavour to work closely with the new Welfare Officer to bring meaningful change not just to Pi but across campus.
