Cici Yao

Hi, it's Cici. I'm a first year majoring in Biological Sciences. 

What really made me want to run for this position was UCLU Parkour Club's Youtube videos, presented to us at a social on a dingy phone screen passed around the table. Amid the cheers I thought to myself, man, if only the current parkour society could be a part of something as cool as that... But wait! We could make that happen! 

• Video editing

I have experience editing in Davinci Resolve, and I want to use that skill to create short engaging videos that boast not only our members' wicked parkour moves in action, but also our whole society's cozy vibe. Consent and cyber safety will always be my priority, so rest assured I'll only make/post content of members who are comfortable with it. With that in mind, I want to give everyone a chance to be showcased, regardless of skill.

There was that one session in Canada Water where everyone did a parkour move in sync. I hope I can use content creation to motivate more of that: us interacting with each other to create a cool moment together instead of just individually practicing moves.

• Designing posts

I draw as a hobby and have experience with colors and composition; I know the barebones of Canva.

• Newsletter 

If I have the freedom to, I want to create a submission form system in Whatsapp so everyone can report on cool parkour-related things that have happened or will happen.
