Aidan Burns

Hello all, for those who don’t already know me, my name is Aidan and I’m currently a second year history student. On a typical day can probably find me at the IoE bar, Gordon Square gardens or Senate House library. I am applying to the role of treasurer because history and sound financial management are two of my favourite things. I like to think that I am a bit like Gordon Brown in that regard, although I understand his legacy as Chancellor is up for debate (I do think him selling off the gold reserves was criminal). From my experience in other committee roles, I understand the importance of both pro-active fundraising, and good judgement in use of funds. I have the personal qualities to do these things: I am energetic, fair and cool headed. Moreover, I love working as a team so I would be a valuable and reliable member of the committee. And of course I do love a good spreadsheet. Thank you for your consideration!

I want to get more involved in the History Society this year! I did Maths A Level so I can definitely count which I hear is great for being treasurer.
