Running, Athletics and Cross Country Club Constitution Amendment

Summary of proposed changes

Committee members and responsibilities:

1. Addition of a triathlon captain. Responsibilities: Coordinate with the UCL Cycling Club and where relevant, the UCL Swimming Club to organize participation in BUCS Duathlon and Triathlon competitions. Coordinate with these clubs to offer additional optional training relevant to these disciplines.
2. Addition of a post-graduate representative. Responsibilities: Partner with Project Active to offer a weekly or fortnightly Post-Graduate run.
3. Addition of responsibilities for social media officer: attend competitions to record content, publish a monthly newsletter, maintain and consistently update the external website and recording of club records, maintain Instagram and WhatsApp group
4. Addition of responsibility for competitions and tours officer: Organize at least one tour per year.

Core activities:

1. Removal of athletics training on Sundays – this no longer happens at the Highgate Harriers and is no longer relevant to the club.
2. Removal of neon rave/color run core activity. Replaced with once-termly themed run.
3. Welfare evenings changed to welfare events. Removal of “with guest speakers”, replaced with “such as guest speakers or activities such as social stretching”.
