Join the Network for Mature and Part-Time Students, Parents and Carers
Network committee members actively support Student Officers that convene their network, and assist with the over-all decision making processes within the network.
The Social Secretary shall:
- Lead on organising regular social activities
You must be a continuing UCL student who is registered as a part-time student at UCL or began an undergraduate course after the age of 21, or a postgraduate course after the age of 24. Or Any continuing UCL student with caring responsibilities. This includes anyone who provides unpaid care for a child or for a friend or family member who, due to illness, disability, a mental health issue or an addiction cannot cope without their support to vote for this position.

I have over 10 years of experience in team management, staff training and operations. I have also worked extensively in overseas branches of head offices, where I regularly had to summarise discussions and communicate key information clearly between teams. I believe this experience will help me take accurate meeting notes and share important points effectively. If elected, I hope to support well-organised meetings and make sure members can easily understand what was discussed, decided and needs to be followed up.
I will bring over 10 years of experience in managing and training teams in Korea, Japan and Taiwan. Much of my career has involved working with people of different ages, cultures and professional backgrounds. This has taught me to be responsible, patient and adaptable, and to listen to different perspectives before making decisions. I also genuinely enjoy supporting others and working as part of a team. I believe my professional and life experience will help me understand the different needs of mature, part-time, parent and carer students and contribute reliably to the Network.
As a mature student with many years of professional and life experience, I understand the different needs and perspectives of mature and part-time students. In my home country, I also had responsibilities for supporting my family, so I understand the challenges that can come with balancing study, work and caring responsibilities. I hope to use this understanding to listen to members’ needs, support clear communication, and contribute reliably to a Network where different voices are heard and respected.
