I've got 15 years' tutoring experiences, more than 8 years' teacher training experiences and over 3.5 years' experiences in managing and operating a teachers' community. The community consists of more than 2000 teachers, whether from personal studios, training centers, public schools or private schools. I was the founder and organizer of the community, gathering the teachers from social media platforms and launching all kinds of activities, such as, team building, workshops, school visiting, or meetings etc. I'm also experienced in editing vlogs so as to develop my social influences.
First of all, I want to learn about ideas from these brilliant brains.
Secondly, I may become a more well-rounded leader through these coordinations and cooperations , so that I can be more creative and flexible in leading the teachers' community after I go back to my city.
Third, I hope I can make myself more confident and natural in communicating in English, in order to reverse my Chinese-logic mind.
I don't think lots of them can be as competitive as I am, since I've got not only teaching experiences, but also training and management experiences. I'm very flexible in communicating, as well as willing to help like an elder sister.
Coming to this role, I would bring the patience of a teacher, the initiative of a team leader and the perspective of an international postgraduate. Over the past four years, I’ve taught more than 200 learners, and in a service-learning project in rural Vietnam, I helped prepare nearly 20 volunteers to support children with different needs. These experiences taught me to listen before acting, adapt when things change and make space for voices that might otherwise go unheard. Therefore, I'm ready to bring that same care and openness to representing IOE PGT students.
If elected, I want students to feel that raising a concern is worth their time, and that they will not be left wondering what happened next. I’ll listen to students across the Faculty, work with other reps to identify shared concerns around teaching, assessment and academic support, and bring them to the right staff and committees. I’ll also share updates honestly, including when something cannot be changed. I can’t promise every request will be met, but I can promise to take concerns seriously, follow up and keep students informed about outcomes and next steps.
I know how much difference it makes when someone takes your concerns seriously. My experience in teaching and student leadership has taught me to listen to different perspectives, communicate things clearly and turn feedback into practical next steps. Therefore, I would bring both care and follow-through to this role: representing your concerns and feedback fairly, working constructively with staff and keeping you all updated with related news. I’m not standing because I have all the answers, but because I’m ready to listen, learn and speak up with every student at IOE, not just for them.
Hi all! I have been a member of the IOE for the past three years and was very fortunate to carry on doing my Masters here too. I was also a Student Rep for two years so I understand the intensity and importance of the role. The most important thing is to allow your voice and concerns to be heard. I have the experience of communicating the things students may feel anxious about to module leaders and the head of department. I have also seen change take place in real time and it taught me the importance of bridging the gap between students and teachers.
University, in general, can be very overwhelming and a Masters, even moreso! More than anything, I wish to be a voice for my peers and class. No worry or anxiety is too small and what is most important is that we can make changes that will help in your learning journey and help you to succeed. My main goal is to be a listening ear to my peers and then take that to the people who can make changes happen. I hope that if I am elected, I can help in building strong connections between students and teachers as well as contribute to making necessary changes that will be beneficial to students.
Whether you are an international student, a home student, a mature student, or an undergraduate going in to do a masters, whatever you may be, please know that your voice matters. I will do my best in ensuring that you are heard. Thank you!
My background combines Computer Science, Education and Psychology, giving me an interdisciplinary perspective on students' (K12 and higher education) needs. I conducted activities for students, both on and off campus. I am willing to listen to different perspectives (any of them), identify shared concerns, and turn feedback into suggestions. I will bring reliability and a genuine commitment to improving our academic experience.
I hope to build a clear and effective way for students and the Faculty to communicate. I would listen to students across different courses, identify common concerns and share their feedback with staff. I want students to feel confident speaking up and know that their voices can make a difference. At the same time, I hope to help students better understand teachers’ perspectives: why decisions are made, how activities are designed, and how they can support our learning. Communication is the key; I hope our students and faculty team have excellent experiences in both learning and teaching.
I am worth trusting. I won’t claim to have all the answers, but I will take your suggestions seriously. Having studied across computing and education, I understand that students can approach learning from very different perspectives. I will listen before making assumptions, represent shared concerns fairly and follow up rather than let feedback disappear after a meeting. If elected, I want to be approachable, thoughtful and dependable—and to help turn our collective voices into constructive action and contribute a two-way understanding in our faculty.
I will bring enthusiasm, commitment, and a strong sense of responsibility to the PGT Representative role at UCL Institute of Education. I am committed to listening to my peers, representing their views fairly, and communicating their concerns constructively to staff. I will encourage open communication, promote inclusivity, and work collaboratively to improve the student experience. I also hope to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas and concerns. Above all, I will be approachable, reliable, and dedicated to ensuring that every student's voice matters......
I hope to ensure that every student feels heard, supported, and represented. I want to create an open channel of communication between students and staff, where concerns, ideas, and feedback can be shared constructively. I also hope to identify common challenges students may face and work collaboratively with staff to find practical solutions that improve our academic and overall university experience. Most importantly, I want to help foster an inclusive and supportive community where students from diverse backgrounds feel comfortable sharing their perspectives.
Students should vote for me because I am approachable, responsible, and committed to representing everyone’s views fairly. I will listen to your concerns, communicate your feedback to staff, and work towards practical improvements that enhance our student experience. I believe every voice matters, and I will strive to ensure that we feel heard, supported, and included throughout our time at the UCL Institute of Education. Your voice matters, and I will do my best to make sure it is heard!
I have learned that people achieve more when their ideas are valued and their efforts come together. That is the leadership I would bring to IOE: initiative grounded in empathy, working with students, reps, and staff. As a lawyer, researcher, and founder of Women in Research Latam (NGO), whose initiatives have reached over 3,200 people (Instagram), I've seen what shared purpose can achieve. I've also proposed UCL's Education Policy Society. Leadership means turning shared ambitions into action that benefits us all. I believe lasting impact is built through trust, commitment and action.
Every student should feel that their ideas matter beyond the classroom. If elected, I will work with Course and Lead Department Representatives to create a termly IOE Student Priorities Report, tracking concerns, faculty responses, and progress. I will raise priorities at faculty meetings and Education Zone, advocating for clearer assessments, timely feedback, and academic support. I hope to strengthen research culture through student discussions and opportunities to share research across programmes. My goal is an IOE where student voices shape academic excellence and lead to visible action.
University is more than lectures and deadlines. It is where we find our confidence, question our ideas, and discover what we can become. I believe every student deserves to feel part of that experience. As a recognised researcher in Peru and founder of a growing youth organisation, I have learned that meaningful progress comes from working with people, not speaking for them. I bring experience, empathy and a genuine commitment to improving student life at IOE. I want your concerns taken seriously, your ideas valued, and your time at UCL to be an experience you are proud of.
