What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

As the DBA Year 1 Representative, an EDI representative and a UCL PGTA, I have developed further experience of representing others, listening to different perspectives and working across academic and professional settings. These roles have strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, build trust and turn feedback into practical action. I would bring that experience, alongside my wider leadership background, to represent PGRs effectively across the Faculty.

Listening. Representing. Following through.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I want PGRs across the Faculty to feel that their views are heard and represented. I would focus on making it easier for PGRs to raise concerns and share ideas, strengthening communication between PGRs and the Faculty, and highlighting issues around supervision, research support, wellbeing, development opportunities and inclusion. Most importantly, I want to make sure feedback is followed up and, where possible, turned into meaningful action.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I know that representation only works when people feel comfortable speaking up and when concerns are properly followed through. Through my roles as DBA Year 1 Representative and EDI representative, I have experience gathering different views and taking them forward constructively. I would bring that same consistency, openness and follow-through at Faculty level, while making sure PGRs across different programmes and stages are represented fairly.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I have three years’ experience as a Department Representative for the Institute of Cardiovascular Science, including two years as Lead Rep. During this time, I have represented student concerns and worked with staff to improve the research experience. Recognising a lack of opportunities for PhD students to connect across departments, I created faculty-wide social events, including an annual quiz night that now attracts over 50 students. For this work, I was awarded the Academic Representative of the Year for our faculty. This experience and commitment will be carried forward into this role.

Experienced in representation. Committed to building our community.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

My main priority is to carry on my work in strengthening community across the faculty. With students spread across departments and locations, it can be difficult to build networks beyond immediate research groups. I want to expand opportunities for PhD students to connect, share experiences and collaborate, while working closely with department representatives and staff. I also want to ensure all postgraduate researchers feel represented, know where to raise concerns, and see their feedback result in meaningful action.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Students should vote for me because I offer both experience and a proven commitment to improving the PhD experience. As a Department Representative and Lead Rep, I have advocated for students, worked constructively with staff, and created faculty-wide initiatives that bring researchers together. As I enter the final year of my PhD, I want to build on this work and leave a lasting positive impact by helping create a more connected, supportive and inclusive postgraduate community.
