Farida Youssef (She/her)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I would like to use my professional experience working within multidisciplinary teams as a sustainability consultant for the built environment to help communicate students feedback constructively, bridge gaps where needed and contribute to a more inclusive and supportive learning environment. Ultimately, I see this role as an opportunity to make our shared experience better, ensuring that we not only leave with a degree but also feel that we have grown, contributed and made the most of our time together.

Our voices, our idea and our UCL
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I’m someone who loves bringing people together, taking initiative, and finding ways to make things better. I believe our university experience should be about more than just getting a degree, it’s about making the most of our time here, learning from each other and creating an environment where everyone feels heard and supported. I’d love to take an active role in making that happen by bringing fresh ideas to the table, turning feedback into action and making our time at UCL as rewarding as we all want it to be !

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

As an international student, I know what it feels like to arrive somewhere new, figure everything out, and wonder if everyone else has it together while you’re just winging it! I want to make sure none of us feels alone in this journey. Whether it’s making sure our concerns are heard, finding solutions to shared challenges or helping us feel more connected as a cohort. I want to be someone you can approach, talk to and count on. I can’t promise to magically fix everything (as much I would love to), but I can promise to speak up, take initiative and turn feedback into action!

Saima Sami (She/Her)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

With a diverse student body and the intensity of our programs, we need a leader who is results-driven, engages with students, and is not afraid to speak up. In just 5 months as Inclusivity and Sustainability Coordinator for the Faculty of Education, I ensured the integrity of sensitive information for 4,000 incoming students and implemented mass training and practices across teams. Through my experience of proactively addressing concerns and responding to member feedback as Chapter President of a women’s organisation, I grew my chapter to its largest point of membership harmony in four years.

I am not THE voice but rather THEIR voice.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I believe it’s important to ensure the faculty puts into practice what it teaches us to be key pillars in our urban world, such as sustainability, equitable access, and collaboration. I will put into place a formalised and accessible chain of communication, including termly forums, updates, and reports, so our student body is always in the know. Most importantly, I commit to transparency and accountability, with measures in place such as anonymous evaluative surveys to make sure I am keeping to my promises.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

During my fieldwork fellowship in Ghana this past year, working on programs for youth employment and women’s empowerment, I continuously engaged with diverse ecosystem actors. With such a widespread range of schools within the faculty, I cannot attempt to know every student’s experiences, but as with Ghana, I know listening to the community is the start. If elected, I will work to ensure we are fairly represented within our faculty no matter where we come from, what we study, or how long we are here for.

Changyu Lu (she/zelata)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I have four years of experience with student union external work. This helps me talk with different people and hear many ideas.

I am open and confident when I work with classmates and tutors. I can politely tell tutors what students worry about and what they need. I try to meet the needs of both sides and find good answers, not just send complaints.

I have good academic results and experience leading design competition teams. I know the hard parts of studio work well.

I am careful and reliable. I will collect students’ true opinions and connect students and teachers.

Our feelings matter most, our perseverance stands unshakable.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If I become student rep, I will set up easy online ways for students to give honest opinions. Everyone can share their thoughts without worry. Because some students are nervous to speak in class, and others find it hard to get in touch with professors quickly. Every month, I will collect your ideas and send them to the teaching team. I will check the professors’ answers and tell the whole class, so we can talk better. I will also give useful ideas to make our learning space helpful, friendly and efficient.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

1.I enjoy helping others. I am patient and careful. I will try my best to build good communication between students and professors, so we can study better at UCL.

2.I have strong professional skills. I won the National Scholarship during my undergraduate studies. As the team leader, I led my group to win an honorable mention in the Evolo International Competition. I will try my best to help everyone in our future study.

3.I have strong empathy. I believe no problem from classmates is small. I will actively discuss every collected issue with professors and bring satisfying answers to everyone.

Nithyashree Rajeev (she/her)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I aim to bring an approachable and proactive approach to the role. Having been a PGT student for a year, I understand that each student has very different experiences and I believe that effective representation starts with genuine listening rather than assuming that one person's experience and difficulties represents everyone. I'm a good communicator and someone who is comfortable in bringing people together to turn concerns into constructive conversations. I aim to actively seek feedback and I will be committed to raising key issues and keeping the cohort informed about all discussions.

A better PGT experience, together.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

When elected, I hope to create a stronger connection between the students and decision making representatives. With PGT programmes being fast paced, student may feel that there is limited time or opportunity for their feedback to lead into a meaningful change. I would aim to make it easier for students to share their concerns and to create a clear and accessible feedback loop so that representation is sustained. Ultimately, I want to contribute to an experience where PGT students feel confident that their experiences and perspectives can influence a positive change in their education.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Vote for me because I will listen, represent and follow through. Most importantly, I will keep students informed, so you know not only that your voice has been heard, but also what is being done about it. I want to be an approachable, proactive and reliable representative who helps ensure that PGT students across the Faculty of the Built Environment have a stronger voice in shaping their education.
