Network committee members actively support Student Officers that convene their network, and assist with the over-all decision making processes within the network. 

The Treasurer shall:

  • Ensure that all income and expenditure is accounted for.
  • Work with the network convenor regarding budgets for any proposed events and activities.

“Your money, our mission, fewer financial disabilities.”
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I want to make sure the society’s money goes towards things that actually make a difference to disabled students, whether that’s accessible events, useful resources or opportunities to meet people who understand the university experience. I’d aim to keep spending transparent, budgets sensible and fundraising worthwhile, because accessibility shouldn’t come with an unnecessary price tag. Most importantly, I want every pound to work as hard as a student trying to get across campus between back-to-back lectures.

 

 

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I’ll bring strong organisation, attention to detail and a healthy respect for a spreadsheet. Having studied Economics at A level and run my own online business, I understand budgeting, managing revenue and making money go further. I’m comfortable taking responsibility, keeping accurate records and being transparent about financial decisions. I’m also approachable and practical: I want members to feel that their money is being managed responsibly, without the society needing an audit from the Bank of England.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Vote for me, because someone needs to stop the Disability Society’s finances from becoming a case study in economic mismanagement. I’ve studied Economics, run my own business, and know that every penny counts. I promise responsible budgeting, transparent spending and absolutely no dodgy offshore accounts. I can’t promise to solve every accessibility issue at UCL, but I can promise to make our money work harder than the average student avoiding a 9am lecture.
