Election post

Elected
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I’m eager to help create a more inclusive and empowering space for students of colour at UCL by making sure the society’s resources are used thoughtfully to support and celebrate our members. As treasurer, I will prioritise transparency and keep our finances clear and well-organised so everyone knows how funds are spent and feels confident that they benefit the whole community. I’m especially excited to use our budget creatively to host vibrant cultural and social events that honour and showcase the diverse backgrounds within our society, whilst making sure it is cost-efficient.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring practical financial and organisational skills from my role as a coffee shop supervisor, where I take initiative to negotiate and upsell products to customers (which I do very well), and I introduce new concepts ideas of seasonal food and drinks and in a cost-efficient way. I’m currently organising a Palestine event, giving me hands-on experience in budgeting and balancing impact with affordability. These experiences have strengthened my problem-solving, attention to detail, and resourcefulness — qualities I’m keen to bring to the treasurer role to ensure our funds are used effectively!

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I’m committed to making our society’s resources work for everyone — transparent, efficient, and impactful. I intend to be transparent with my aims and ensure that everyone is on board. I want people to leave our events with a lasting, meaningful impact and I am eager to navigate this in a cost-efficient manner. I’ll use my experience managing budgets as a coffee shop supervisor and organising events to ensure our funds go further, supporting more inclusive and vibrant activities. I’m passionate about celebrating our diverse cultures so every member feels represented, heard, and empowered.
