What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I’m eager to help create a more inclusive and empowering space for students of colour at UCL by making sure the society’s resources are used thoughtfully to support and celebrate our members. As treasurer, I will prioritise transparency and keep our finances clear and well-organised so everyone knows how funds are spent and feels confident that they benefit the whole community. I’m especially excited to use our budget creatively to host vibrant cultural and social events that honour and showcase the diverse backgrounds within our society, whilst making sure it is cost-efficient.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring practical financial and organisational skills from my role as a coffee shop supervisor, where I take initiative to negotiate and upsell products to customers (which I do very well), and I introduce new concepts ideas of seasonal food and drinks and in a cost-efficient way. I’m currently organising a Palestine event, giving me hands-on experience in budgeting and balancing impact with affordability. These experiences have strengthened my problem-solving, attention to detail, and resourcefulness — qualities I’m keen to bring to the treasurer role to ensure our funds are used effectively!

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I’m committed to making our society’s resources work for everyone — transparent, efficient, and impactful. I intend to be transparent with my aims and ensure that everyone is on board. I want people to leave our events with a lasting, meaningful impact and I am eager to navigate this in a cost-efficient manner. I’ll use my experience managing budgets as a coffee shop supervisor and organising events to ensure our funds go further, supporting more inclusive and vibrant activities. I’m passionate about celebrating our diverse cultures so every member feels represented, heard, and empowered.

Shreyasi Tripathi
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

As Treasurer, I'll publish monthly budget breakdowns showing exactly where funds go - complete transparency. I'll actively pursue corporate sponsorships from companies claiming to value diversity. I'll ensure consistent fortnightly meetups with food, establish a hardship fund so no one misses events due to money, and cut wasteful spending to fund major socials. I'll negotiate better deals with venues and handle reimbursements efficiently. This role is about making the network function - consistent events, accessible opportunities, and financial management that enables community building.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I've managed real money at Kids Focus Labs - processing payments and maintaining flawless records for 10+ clients. As Student Counsellor, I coordinated 20+ events with budgets on the line. My legal internships trained me to catch problems early: managing case files and spotting issues before they escalate. As Head of Digital Publications at UCL LWOB, I rebuilt systems that work and delivered under pressure. I see inefficiency and fix it. I handle responsibility and deliver results. This role needs someone who turns plans into action and makes money work for the community. That's what I do.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

These are a few reasons why you should be voting for me:

  1. MORE MONEY - more sponsorships
  2. MORE TRANSPARENCY - regular budget reveals
  3. BETTER EVENTS - MORE FOOD AND MORE SOCIALS

VOTE FOR ME IF YOU WANT TO HAVE FUN AND BUILD COMMUNITY!

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If elected as PoC Finance Officer, I want to make our community’s finances open, fair, and useful for everyone. I will make sure every pound is spent wisely and benefits PoC students directly. My goals are to keep financial reports transparent, support a good mix of academic and cultural events, and work with other societies to create more shared opportunities. To me, finance is not just numbers—it’s about trust, inclusion, and helping people feel part of something bigger.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I studied Accounting in China and now pursue a Master’s in Leadership at UCL. I’ve interned at a Big Four accounting firm, gaining experience in auditing, tax, and financial planning. I also managed event budgets and sponsorships as a student representative. These experiences taught me to be organised, detail-minded, and calm under pressure. I care deeply about teamwork and inclusion, and I’ll use my professional and leadership skills to manage our PoC finances responsibly and support meaningful student activities.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I believe finance is about responsibility and trust. With my accounting background and passion for community, I’ll manage funds transparently and ensure every student benefits from our work. I’m approachable, reliable, and always willing to listen. If you want a Finance Officer who truly cares about fairness, inclusion, and making the PoC community stronger together, I’d be honoured to have your vote.
