If I could describe what I bring to this role in a few words, it would be energy, empathy, and experience. I’ve always believed that a good representative is not just a spokesperson, but a connector — someone who listens, understands, and brings people together. I’ve led international events, mentored students, and worked with staff to create a supportive community. I also delivered a TED Talk on youth empowerment, embracing cultures. These experiences makes me ready to bring this energy to IOE, representing every voice and helping build an inclusive, connected community for our faculty.
If elected, I’ll make sure every student’s voice is heard and respected. I’ll gather feedback, and share it at Faculty meetings. Beyond academics, I also hope to promote the value of students and staff working together. In high school, I often worked closely with teachers and administrators to plan events, so I know how effective collaboration can be. I’d like to build strong relationships with both students and faculty to create a friendly, open dialogue that helps everyone feel part of the same team. My goal is to make IOE a vibrant space where collaboration and positive change thrive.

I have had lots of experience in my previous school being a prefect for both boarding and day section. I convinced my school to add a mezzanine floor in dining hall to solve lunch queue issues. I am also involved in clubs such as co-founding the philosophy society which host weekly talks.
I have helped organise parents evenings, open days, and some school trips. As part of the Eco- Commitee I have joined a project to raise awareness, where my team gathered over 2 tonnes of Crisp packets for air ambulance. Lastly, I am fluent in both English and Chinese which should help me communicate at ease.
I would like to bridge the gap between Teacher and fellow Students, and always be there when anyone needs support.
As I am bilingual I hope I will be of help in my course where a large majority of students are Chinese-speaking. This means I will be able to work with both tutors and students to change UCL Education for the better, on both a macro and micro scale: I will be a listening ear to seek all students' opinion and speak them out loud in active campaigns, and work hard behind the scenes and commit my time in meetings with other representatives and the SU to help everything go smoothly.
Though I am first-year, it should not mean I lack willingness to commit: know that I will be there for you when you need support, listen to you when you have opinions, and willing to ask as many people, to send as many emails as needed to get it done.
Education isn't just about teaching; it's about the community. And I think with my experience in previous schools I can actively help this community to be the best it can. I will close the gap between students and teachers, strengthen relationships, and aim to be the Salt and the Light to everyone. Together, let us build a better Education in UCL.
As a first-year sociology student at UCL, I bring a fresh perspective along with genuine empathy and a strong commitment to representing my peers. As a first-year student, I bring a fresh, current perspective on the new student experience. I am highly approachable and an active listener, skills honed from mentoring and team sports. My recent transition into university life means I am acutely aware of the initial challenges students face, from navigating coursework to accessing support. I am organised and eager to learn, ready to absorb training and work collaboratively with staff and other reps. My genuine passion for education and my immediate connection to the student body will ensure I represent the faculty's interests with energy.
My primary goal is to strengthen the feedback loop between students and the faculty. I will achieve this by:
1. Establishing a termly "Voices Forum" with Course Reps to systematically gather concerns and ideas.
2. Advocating clearer, more consistent communication on how student feedback has directly led to changes in modules or assessment.
3. Advocating for inclusive learning resources and lecture-capture to ensure all students, including those with different learning styles, can thrive. I will focus on making our academic experience more transparent, responsive, and supportive for everyone.
