What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

As a first-year international student, I know how important it is to feel welcomed and connected in a new environment. As Community Officer, I hope to create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere at Astor College where everyone feels at home, no matter their background. I want to organise a variety of events, both social and cultural, that help residents meet new people and form meaningful friendships. I also hope to encourage open communication and collaboration among residents, so that everyone feels their ideas are valued and that Astor is a supportive and enjoyable place to live.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring enthusiasm, empathy, and strong organisational skills from my experience in Girl Guides and the student council, where I helped plan team-bonding activities and school-wide initiatives. These experiences taught me how to lead collaboratively, listen to others, and create inclusive spaces where everyone feels involved. I am approachable, reliable, and eager to make a positive impact. As Community Officer, I will bring energy, creativity, and dedication to planning events that connect people, celebrate diversity, and make hall life enjoyable for everyone.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I genuinely care about creating a welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant community at Astor College. As a first-year international student, I know how meaningful it is to feel supported and included, especially when adjusting to a new place. I want to ensure everyone has the chance to make friends, share experiences, and feel part of Astor College. With my leadership and event-planning experiences, I will bring organisation, creativity, and enthusiasm to the role. I will also listen to residents’ ideas and work hard to make Astor a place where everyone feels valued and proud to call home.

Therefore in this role, I hope to enhance the student experience by organising engaging events that help residents make lasting memories of their time in accommodation, while ensuring everyone in our community feels represented and valued.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

In this role, I will bring passion, reliability and commitment to developing a welcoming and inclusive community. Having lived in UCL accommodation before, I understand what halls can do to support residents needs and foster a sense of belonging.
