I will provide strong, empathetic leadership with action and collaboration at the centre. For me, leadership is about listening first, being a proposer, and gathering people around common cause and purpose. I will bring confidence, creativity and organisation to support the collective voice of students and to work with staff to turn ideas into tangible progress. I strive to lead with integrity and ensure every student feels heard, ultimately feeling supported, wanted and valued within our community.
If I am elected, I want to create an opportunity to have the voices of the undergraduates in Population Health Sciences more meaningfully included in shaping their academic experience. I will advocate for more transparency and clarity with placements, push for supports with research and public health projects, and advocate for more informal opportunities for peer engagement and networking. I envision building a community where students feel informed, supported and empowered to succeed academically and professionally.
The students should select me as their representative because I will be involved and easy to communicate with. I have innovative solutions that I want to implement in improving student life, advocate for wellbeing and academic support, as well as to connect and bring our community of students together in an inclusive, engaging, and collaborative way. The changes I want to impact matter to me, from academic experiences to recreational opportunities. At the end of the day, I will work hard to ensure every student voice matters, and that every experience is counted as value.
During my time at UCL, I've built experiences I'm excited to bring to the Population Health Sciences faculty representative role. Writing in the faculty newspaper has helped strengthen clear, confident communication. Independent projects and internships, including a UCL population health placement, developed initiative, organisation and problem-solving. Two years as the course rep for my peers has taught me to listen, gather feedback and work with staff for real improvements, building creativity, drive and responsibility to represent our faculty with ambition and teamwork.
If elected, I hope to strengthen communication between students and staff so that feedback leads to real action. I hope to create learning opportunities that reflect the diversity of our field, as well as lead initiatives that spark a stronger sense of community, whether through cross-department projects such as skills swap workshops where students can teach other practical skills as a way to improve themselves and help others, peer mentoring being carried through all 3 academic years or student-led events that connect us beyond the lectures and seminars.
Students should vote for me because I hope to turn our ideas into projects we can all be proud of. From writing in the faculty paper to leading my own project, I've learnt how small conversations can spark actionable changes. I hope to create opportunities, like peer-led skills swaps and community events, that make our faculty more connected and inclusive. I would work to keep decisions transparent and celebrate student achievements so every student feels that their opinions and perspectives have helped shape the direction of our community.
