Join the Disabled Students' Network

Network committee members actively support Student Officers that convene their network, and assist with the over-all decision making processes within the network. 

The Secretary shall:

  • Take accurate notes of forum proceedings and circulate those notes after the forum.
  • Support the Student Officer in the production and circulation of agendas.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I am happy to work under Danilo who is an amazing Chair and person, to enhance the network and community however serve the members best! My overall aim, is to share an equitable, inclusive and accessible approach towards our connections for fun, career and life prospects!

  • I will listen to the views of the network members and co-develop opportunities to help our progression.
  • I will support with sign postings services or facilities that can enhance your disability student experience.
  • I will keep the administration responsibilities organised, to support handovers and successful support of members.
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
  • During my undergraduate course I was thrice elected Chair of Civil Engineering Society (CivSoc), Mature Students' Society (MatureSoc) and Disabled Students Officer 2022
     
  • During my masters course, I have been an academic, department and faculty representative. Alongside these I have also been the President of the Autism Society with the Successor being Danilo. 
     
  • I have represented the disabled students' throughout UCL like within the Education Board, as  one of The Bartlett  Disability Role Models and other staff teams to enhance our experiences.
     
Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Having experienced the difficulties of being late diagnosed, with all my disabilities not limited to neurodivergence, physical and mental, I understand how challenging university and life can be without reasonable adjustments. I am genuinely passionate about assisting other students to have a less stressful and isolating experience. 

Vote for someone who:

  • has consistently represented her peers to feel and be included within university life.
  • listens to all feedback with an open mind.
  • will be honest yet diplomatic with strategising solutions.

isn’t on a power-driven journey for personal gain
