What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
As the UCL East Student Officer, I hope to bring the soul of UCL to the East Campus. I am a driven and bold individual, and will carry out my mission unapologetically, with strategy and enthusiasm. As a student at UCL East, I will gain first hand feedback from peers around me, implementing plausible suggestions where appropriate and will give no personal bias. I have prior experience as a Senior Prefect at school, liaising with teachers to ensure the weekly chapel services were running smoothly. I have worked as a summer school activity leader, organising events based on students' requests.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
Studying Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at Marshgate last year was one of my biggest years of growth, however it was clear to me and my fellow course mates that there was something missing to our university experience. That thing was the student community. My sole mission as the UCL East Student Officer will be to liaise and cooperate with existing UCL society committees to promote and encourage expansion to UCL East. I will encourage every society to have a designated UCL East committee member, and will create spaces in UCL East and the surrounding areas for activities to happen.

Students should vote for me because I have their best interest in mind. As a student whose course is solely at Marshgate, bringing more student life to UCL East will only be a benefit to my own wellbeing. I want to bring lasting change to the student experience here as UCL East continues to thrive and grow, basing my plans off feedback from fellow East students in a democratic way. In conclusion, I will be the voice of the East students, making activities and events to come to Marshgate. I want to improve student life and I know I have the drive and communication skills to make it happen.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
I bring valuable experience in student representation and advocacy having served as the Undergraduate Course Representative for Economics at the University of Leeds, I liaised with over 1000+ students and faculty, enhancing communication and academic experiences. As an Equality and Inclusion Representative, I promoted diversity and inclusion, organizing events and advocating for underrepresented groups. My experience as a Campus Ambassador further developed my public speaking and engagement skills. I’m confident in my ability to support and represent the UCL East student body effectively.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
I aim to strengthen student engagement and build a more inclusive and collaborative community. My primary focus would be on ensuring that every student's voice is heard, particularly those from underrepresented groups, by advocating for their needs in key decision-making processes. I would work to enhance communication channels between students and the university, facilitate more interactive events, and support initiatives that promote mental well-being, academic growth, and a vibrant campus life for all UCL East students.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
As the first daughter of a Pakistani immigrant family, and a commuting student, I have experienced some of the challenges faced by the underrepresented students at UCL East. My role as an admin for the Living at Home Network, as well as a Podcast Host has refined by communication and leadership abilities. Additionally, my academic journey in Public History (MA) reflects my commitment to inclusion and advocacy even in academia. Having been a student at UCL for three years now, I am passionate about creating a connected and supportive community where every student feels that they have a voice.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
If elected as UCL East Student Officer, I hope to prioritise access to mental health services for all students, particularly those who are first-generation or from minority backgrounds. I also want to create greater collaboration between UCL East and the main Bloomsbury campus, as I know how easy it is to feel disconnected when you are split between two locations. I plan on making UCL East a vibrant and social hub that hosts events tailored to the students at the campus. I am determined to amplifying the voices of students at UCL East, and creating a campus that celebrates each student.

As a UCL East Officer, I will advocate for greater mental health support and increased collaboration between the East and Bloomsbury campuses. Whether that is through workshops, societal events, or wellbeing services, I aim for a practical and student-centred approach to improving student experiences at UCL East. As a role that embodies very personal values to me, I am committed to making this campus more inclusive and connected. I truly hope that my empathetic approach to this role, at a campus that has so much potential, can be witnessed and felt by everyone at UCL East.
