Election post

Elected
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I will bring approachable leadership, active communication, and a dedication to promoting sports for all in this role. I learnt teamwork and dedication as a defenseman and goalie for HC Kunlun Red Star Ice Hockey Club, where I won a provincial medal. My previous roles included China Think Big's National Committee Operation VP, many society committee members, and Students Union VP. By organising a fete and a skating club, I fulfilled my promise to promote sports and have strengthened my organisation and problem-solving ability and to listen to peers and work with them to make positive change.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I aim to promote inclusivity and boost student involvement in sports by hosting large-scale events, such as football games, through negotiations with London sports facilities to offer affordable tickets. This will foster a passionate campus life and a united UCL culture, giving students a sense of belonging and pride. I also plan to introduce taster events and exercise classes at Bloomsbury Fitness, while advocating for more flexible gym payment plans, instead of having only a one-year option, making fitness accessible to all students, including affiliates and those not in London year-round.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I’m vote-worthy because I combine hands-on sports experience with a passion for fostering a healthy and active student body. My leadership in ice hockey and founding a school sports club demonstrates my ability to inspire and organise. With experience in organizing 2000+ people’s activities in high school, I am committed and experienced in representing students’ needs and ensuring that everyone has access to enjoyable, well-supported sports activities. With my energy, vision, and dedication, I will strive to make sports a more accessible and enjoyable aspect of student life for all.
