What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
I have immense experience leading committees in my current role as the ESF Island School PTA Chair and also as part of the ESF Board of Governors and a Parent Representative in the ESF Island School, School Council (Hong Kong) see here: https://www.esf.edu.hk/fatema-jangbarwala/ & https://island.edu.hk/school-council/ I have strong interpersonal skills with tact to lead committees and manage people from different backgrounds, views and interests towards common goals of improving educational outcomes and standards for students and the organisation as whole. I have strong organisational skills and accountability to follow up on working points and ensure goals move forward through team delegation and changes are incorporated for system improvement. I am action seeker and like to see changes happen in ways forward; small or big for the betterment of the student community.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
If I get elected as the I.O.E. Faculty Representative, as a starting point I will aim to collect feedback and views from students in my faculty towards the positives and the challenges. With this feedback, I will work with fellow representatives across departments to chalk goals and objectives and roles and responsibilities to work with faculty members and staff to find ways to address student feedback and active steps that can be taken to improve systems and address this feedback. I will also aim to bring strong teams focusing on building strong relationships and teams to ensure we support students to have the best outcomes and experiences from their education at UCL.
