What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
Being a student trustee will allow me to gain an in-depth insight into the operation of the student union, while enabling me to gain hands on experience on working within the school's system, including cooperating and collaborating with student reps from different departments within the student union; to enhance responsibilities through making bigger and legal decisions that serves the general interest of student union. And, most importantly, to develop leadership skills via supervising financial and structural stability of all societies.
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
I have always maintained good relationships by being able and willing to listen, negotiate, communicate and work with fellow students as well as colleagues in coffee shops, retail stores and other volunteers during the projects. This makes me a great team player and an accountable person. Being a social event director in my society also equipped me with excellent communication skills through reaching out to other societal committees in coordinating social events. Amongst all, I am responsible, selfless, and prioritize group decisions and always consider what are best for the general public.
Please summarise why students should vote for you.
I will ensure that the decisions made will serve the interests of all departments, societies&members within the student union in accordance to political policies. I will attempt to create an inclusive environment by incorporating and assimilating ideas of different parties within the student union; to enhance equality by giving voices to students on campus, to serve interests of the general public while ensuring financial and structural stability in the administration. Amongst all, to make student union not just an organization, but a friendly, inclusive and a sustainable student community.
