What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?
Having served as a faculty rep last year in a different faculty, I understand the complexities of UCL and the Union’s governance structure. This familiarity means I can focus on important student issues from day one. I am the founder and President of UCL Skate Club, and will bring my qualities of leadership and commitment to the role of faculty rep. Additionally, I have strong interpersonal skills. Working as a course rep for 2 consecutive years, I built relationships with students and staff to resolve issues locally and escalate them appropriately
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?
The main issue that undergraduates of this faculty face is the lack of Union representation. The education zone is where the Union makes policies; during all 5 meetings last year, undergrad population health sciences was never represented, missing the opportunity to vote on issues relating to F2F teaching and 24 hour assessments. Along with department reps, I will go the extra mile and work directly with course reps. Together we can identify key issues across the faculty and ensure that they are heard.
Please summarise why students should vote for you.
The faculty rep of population health sciences has so far been a role that goes unnoticed. However, I have the diligence to stand for students and represent real opinions. Having grown up in a multicultural environment overseas, I am open-minded to new ideas and would love to hear from you about the issues you face. I am determined to deliver to students the standard they deserve.
