What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Hi

I would be very happy to assist professors in connecting with the students and add value to the overall implementation of the program. I can assure that quality work would be done on time and as needed. I have previous experience of working with multiple stakeholders and I think I have the skills for this role. It would give me a chance to work closely with multiple faculties which will help me expand my network.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope to establish open communication channels between faculties and students.

Ensure that all students seek timely support from the faculties

Support faculty in ensuring that the curriculum is finished on time and a good understanding is developed on the subjects

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I have good communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders. I am passionate about public health and would try my best to act as a bridge between students and faculty members.

Shaweta Rattan
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

Firstly, throughout the entirety of my undergraduate degree, I had taken on the role of an Academic Course Representative, I talked to people every day about the value of an economics degree and how our university could provide them with the best possible education for their needs. I always made sure to listen to as many people's opinions and verbalise them back to staff and kept up with weekly/biweekly updates to the course.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I think the most important aspect is to achieve clear communication between the university and its students, to be able to meet with current students regularly because I can learn more about their needs and concerns from them. This helps me better understand what our school offers and if there are any changes we should make.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I am a highly organised person who is motivated by helping others and just a friendly person. I am always open to a chat no matter who its with and am happy and comfortable with getting ideas and sharing them to the appropriate party. I'm really looking forward to the course so I'd like to get as involved as possible.

Sianne C Chinwuba
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I'll bring previous experience as I was an SVL (Student Voice Leader) for 3 years in my undergraduate as well as an SLA (Student Learning Assistant). As an SVL, I'd liaise between students and staff regarding their concerns and what they would like improved. I'd go out of my way to get to know them, supporting them emotionally and academically in support groups. As an SLA I facilitated learning/teaching in the clinical lab, library or seminars, helping with writing and drug calculation.

I have attended meetings within the department, worked with SU and organised meetings within the cohorts.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope to integrate the different courses to:

1. Form relationships outside of their specific course

2. Learn from one another and about the different courses

3. Feel supported and know that there is a bigger community outside of their specific course

I hope to achieve a balance. E.g., by arranging informal meetings to offload some stress/worries that arise during the academic year. I will continuously seek the thoughts and opinions of students and share feedback with the team to help improve/change education and make decisions that will benefit staff/students to enhance their experiences.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Besides my above answers, I am extremely excited and passionate about the well-being of everyone around me. I have an itching and burning desire to inspire, care for, love and support people as I believe that it is one of my purposes.
