Election post
Being a rep all about active voicing and fair representation. In my undergrad studies, I have been part of different student bodies that represented students of different background and courses;
- Class representative for the year 2015-2016
- Head of communication in Ireland's Kuwaiti Student Party for 3 years
- Peer-tutor lead for multiple years
Obtaining those roles made me appreciate how diverse the student body is. I was fortunate to continuously develop my communication skills, participate in active inclusion, and practise effective delegation. I hope to bring all of that to my role.
I hope to achieve a bidirectional benefit from this opportunity;
-As a recent medical graduate and a current postgrad, I hope to be a fair representative for everyone in the faculty. I will try to relate to everyone's concern and to actively voice those concerns and suggestions to the relevant bodies. My ultimate goal is to create a better experience for everyone, including the hardworking staff by being an active and effective channel of communication between us all.
-I want to use this opportunity to enrich my leadership skills and learn more via active engagement throughout the year
Being a good representative requires a range of skills, experience, well-structured plan and an inclusive mentality.
I aspire to use the skills I gained in my undergrad roles in this role to communicate with people at different levels in the faculty. I have represented student bodies from a class level to a national and an international level before. I have a good experience representing students to administrative parties. I will strive to engage everyone, staff and students, in all possible discussions and plans.
Above all, I will ensure representation for all, and be a voice for everyone.
