Election post

Elected
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

To this role, I bring extensive experience being a representative, having been the year rep for my cohort over the past year. I have proven myself to be someone approachable, someone who will see concerns raised through until their resolution. I know how to bring student issues up such that they will be resolved, having worked closely with last year's UG rep and year reps in faculty meetings. I will lead by their examples and maintain good working relationships with members of the faculty, while still getting things done on behalf of the student body.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I hope to further open the lines of communication between students and faculty. I think establishing transparency about what is discussed in meetings, what resolutions will be reached for student concerns and why certain ideas don't go through should be completely open for student discussion. I also want to extend my reach and make sure that every single undergraduate student feels they can come to me with anything so that no one falls through the cracks. Hopefully, with open communication and transparency, more of what students want to happen, can happen.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Students should vote for me because I am a reliable choice. I have been elected twice as a year rep and stayed true to all my initial commitments. I'm not afraid to approach the faculty with student concerns, always prioritize the cohort's needs over my own, and I am a consistently available contact for students. I am passionate about advocacy and representation and greatly enjoy being a year rep. It would be an honour and a privilege to expand on the work I have been doing as a year rep to the entire UG student body. I hope you'll vote me for UG Rep so I can represent you all the best I can!
