Writers' Society: Social Secretary

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for the role of Social Secretary for the Writers’ Society. I’m a BA Creative Arts and Humanities, and I love bringing creative people together. I’m outgoing, organised, and really passionate about creating spaces where writers and readers can connect beyond just meetings and workshops.

As someone about to begin my creative writing dissertation, I know how important community is and I want to help build a social side to the society that feels welcoming, relaxed, and genuinely fun. I’d love to organise things like bookstore crawls, book swaps, literary pub quizzes, themed social nights, and collaborations with other societies. I’m also excited about casual mixers and creative socials that help members meet each other and form real friendships.

For me, being Social Secretary is about creating a real sense of community. I want everyone to feel welcome, included, and excited to be involved, building friendships and making the Writers’ Society a place people genuinely love being part of.
