Writers' Society: Events Secretary

Hi everyone,

I’m applying for the role of Events Secretary for the Writers’ Society. I’m a BA Creative Arts and Humanities student, and I absolutely love bringing creative people together. I’m fun, organised, and super passionate about uniting writers and readers to create a strong, supportive community.

As someone preparing to begin my creative writing dissertation, I understand how valuable shared spaces and inspiration can be. I’d love to organise events that make writing feel social, exciting, and accessible - from poetry slams and themed writing nights to bookstore crawls, book swaps, literary pub quizzes, and classic writing workshops. I’m also keen to collaborate with other societies to widen our community and bring fresh ideas into the mix.

For me, events aren’t just about turnout they’re massively about the atmosphere. I want to create welcoming, creative spaces where people feel inspired, confident, and connected.
