Shaty Mohamed

I am standing for Treasurer because I would love to take on a more active leadership role within the Women in Finance Society and help the society reach its full potential. Over the past year as Relations & Outreach Executive,I have gained valuable insight into the opportunities available to the society.

Through this role, I have seen how much potential there is for us to host a wider variety of events that provide value to our members, from competitions and networking events to collaborations with industry partners. As Treasurer, I would aim to manage the society’s finances effectively to ensure we can support more initiatives like these while maintaining strong financial organisation and transparency.

I would also love to contribute to a collaborative and proactive committee environment where members feel encouraged to share ideas and use their networks to create opportunities for the society. Ultimately, I want to help ensure the Women in Finance Society continues to grow and provide meaningful experiences for all its members.

Tasnim Rahman

As a UCL Chemical Engineering student with a minor in Finance, I am standing for Treasurer because I have genuinely loved the events Women in Finance has hosted this year and want to help the society continue to grow. Being part of such an empowering community has been incredibly inspiring, and I would love to contribute behind the scenes to support its success.

My degree has strengthened my analytical thinking and attention to detail, while my minor in Finance has deepened my understanding of budgeting and financial responsibility. I am organised, reliable, and comfortable working with numbers, and I would approach this role with transparency and accountability.

I would ensure our funds are managed carefully so we can expand our impact, particularly by supporting more frequent collaborations with banks and financial institutions, creating even more opportunities for our members! :)

Manon Cagnol

Through my role in Women in Finance, I aim to ensure the society’s financial stability and transparency. I believe I am a strong candidate as I bring a combination of financial competence, leadership experience, organisational skills, and genuine commitment to the society’s mission. I am highly organised and detail-oriented, qualities I have developed through leadership roles such as captain of my cheerleading team, co-running a high school club, and serving as class representative. These positions strengthened my communication skills, sense of responsibility, and ability to collaborate effectively with different teams. Academically, as a first-year Management Science student at UCL, I have strengthened my foundations in economics, finance, and mathematics. Alongside my degree, I completed virtual job simulations with BCG and Lloyds Banking Group, strengthening my understanding of financial strategy and commercial decision-making.I also gained practical financial experience as co-president and former treasurer of my high school’s LP4Y club, where I managed budgets and contributed to fundraising initiatives that raised over $20,000.My strong interest in finance motivates me to take on a meaningful role within the society that allows me to apply my skills beyond the classroom. I am passionate about empowering women to feel confident entering the finance industry and committed to supporting a community that promotes ambition, confidence, and professional growth.

Cheng Cheng

As the society Women in Finance continues to organise events and initiatives, I would like to contribute to its development and support its activities.

I am organised, responsible, proactive, and attentive to detail, which I believe are key qualities for the role of Treasurer. I enjoy working with people and look forward to participating more fully in the society’s activities next year. I value this opportunity, as I am keen to take on new commitments and challenges, and I would approach the role with care and reliability, ensuring that the society’s funds are managed with clear planning and structure.

In addition, I have previous experience leading the organisation of charity events, which required careful planning and coordination of resources. For example, I managed a show attended by hundreds of audience members, coordinating site bookings, catering, and refreshments, as well as planning and purchasing all costumes and props with my team. This experience helped me develop strong organisational skills and a sense of responsibility when handling budgets.

If elected, I would aim to manage the society’s finances carefully and support the committee in organising successful and well-planned events throughout the year.

Quhe (Helen) Meng

Hi! I'm Helen Meng from Population Health Sciences. I firmly believe I'll be a responsible Treasurer of Women in Finance Society. Vote for me- I won't let you down!!

As Treasurer, I'll manage the society's finances clearly and effectively. That means tracking and reporting revenue and expenses monthly, processing reimbursements quickly, and making sure members get value from their membership by tracking the impact of events. I'll also handle budgeting for socials, food, drinks, and marketing- and help identify the most impactful sponsorships we can pursue within our budget.

I've got the background to back this up. I've taken up two student consultancy projects with UCL Consulting Society/180DC, and I learned to analyze revenue and profit for startups. As VP of Med Access Network in high school, I managed budgets for hygiene workshops- splitting funds across locations, sponsorships, equipment, and printing, and tracking every dollar. I also had a US marketing internship where I negotiated MOQs and pricing with 100+ customers for an accessory manufacturer, so I'm comfortable with numbers and client relations. On top of that, I manage my own investment portfolio across ETFs and commodities, which has taught me how to research, track, and make informed financial decisions.

If elected, I'll be responsible, organized, and focused on making sure the team can flourish without worrying about finances- so we can keep delivering the best experience to our members.
