After winning the UCL Football World Cup, Talfan preached to me about the importance of being a Welfare Sec. Therefore, here I am applying for another role:

I believe I should be Welfare Secretary of the UCL Welsh Society because I represent the spirit, culture and everyday reality of the people I’d serve. As a Welsh-speaking Cofi, I understand the importance of protecting our language, promoting inclusivity, and making sure every voice, whether Cymraeg or English, feels equally valued. Welfare is about belonging, and belonging starts with culture and communication.

I’m also someone who enjoys a drink and a laugh, which is something that matters. It means I understand student life and social pressures. Welfare isn’t about preaching; it’s about supporting. I know how to balance having a good time with looking after your mates, checking in when someone’s quiet, and making sure nights out stay safe and positive.

Felly, i neud undeb UCL yn hapus, rhowch pleidlais i fi er mwyn sicrhau mae gen y Welsh soc comittee llawn erbyn blwyddyn nesa. (Wbath dachi goro neud ar ol i fi fynd drwy'r poen o ddefnyddio meddalwedd giami i sgwennu'r darn saesneg i fi)

Diolch

My Welsh is mediocre when i'm sober and worse when i'm drunk and I literally do an English degree but if you're sad I can listen and bake cookies so I would be a great welfare officer. (of course I love Wales so it is imperative that my fellow welshies are cared for x) Photo is from the Ponty Eisteddfod sorry I didn't go to last years- it was all the way in Wrecsam x

Dw i ddim yn siarad Cymraeg yn rhugl a phan dw i'n meddwi pwy sy'n gwybod, a dw i'n litro gwneud gradd saesneg. Fodd bynnag, pe basech chi'n drist wedyn gallwn i wrando a pobi cwcis felly baswn i'n swyddog lles gwych. Wrth gwrs dw i eisiau gwneud siwr bod pawb yn teimlo'n hyderus ac yn iawn yn ystod eu astudiaeth nhw!

Diolch, Caitlin :)
