Kautham Sivabalan (he/him)
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I want more students to see volunteering as a normal part of their time at UCL—not something extra for the highly motivated few. A lot of people want to get involved but don't know where to start, or feel like they don't have time. My main goal is to close that gap: clearer signposting, better connections between VolSoc, SLP and the Volunteering Service, and opportunities that actually fit around a student's schedule. I've volunteered across conservation projects, urban farms and community clean-ups, so I know that volunteering sticks when it feels meaningful and accessible.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I've done a lot of volunteering—food banks, mangrove planting, river cleanups, urban farming, conservation research—across two countries, so I understand what makes people show up and what makes them not bother coming back. I know how to talk to people who are already passionate, but more importantly I know how to reach people who aren't yet.. I'm organised, I follow through, and I genuinely care about making volunteering feel less like an obligation and more like something worth your time.

Volunteering is empowering yourself to bring impacts 💗 Let's do it together!
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I want to empower you to turn your ideas into reality by making industry legends accessible. To me, volunteering is about empowering ourselves to create impact 💗. I’ll replace "alone stress" with collective success, utilising resources to enrich our experiences. I aim to bring the well-being focus of my Fun(d)4u project, using psychological research and motivational quotes, to our high-pressure finance journey. Just like a "Minion helping Gru," I’ll work behind the scenes to help you achieve your dreams! 🚀✨

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring 10+ years of heart-led "hustle". From cooking for kids in Dak Lak at age 12 to running Facebook ads and "free biscuit" promos for a startup cafe, I get results! I’ve solved residency food shortages by recruiting "redundant labourers" and built a social enterprise website for well-being. As a UCLSAAH interim committee member, I’ve mastered fundraising and collaboration. My psychiatric hospital work taught me to accept diverse viewpoints and listen for root causes. I combine a Management Science "Finance Pulse" with a passionate nature, ready to assist the team! 📊🔥

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Vote for me because your success is my "Emotional Contract"! Since age 12, I’ve found joy in being a "gift to others," whether cooking for mountain villages or helping a former patient launch his cafe dream. I’m a dedicated listener who seeks the best outcomes like when I tackled food shortages during residency. I’m not just a "leader in a suit"; I’m a peer who will work tirelessly as your "Minion" to make your transformational story come alive! 🤝❤️ Let’s onboard together! >:D 🚢✨

Nawal Moalin (she/her)
Empowering students, Impacting communities.
What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If elected, I aim to actively expand and modernise our volunteering network. I want to secure stronger partnerships with high impact local organisations, introduce clearer progression routes for student volunteers, and ensure opportunities are consistent, well-communicated and meaningful. My focus is on measurable impact-increasing participation, improving organisation and flexibility of the event system, and making our university known for genuine community contribution making this a rewarding process for everyone involved. I hope to inspire both students and communities we will work by with.

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring both practical experiences and genuine commitment to service. I completed a mountain fundraiser to support Palestinian humanitarian causes by raising over £1000 and volunteered in places like care homes, working closely with residents and staff. These experiences have strengthened my resilience, empathy and ability to take initiative. I am organised, reliable and driven to translate compassion into meaningful, well-coordinated action to improve existing and new opportunities. My priority is ensuring student involved feel valued, empowered and proud of the difference they are making.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

Vote for me because I combine proven commitment with action. Volunteering and aiding are personal passions that align closely with my future career goals, and I have began demonstrating this through fundraising challenges and hands on volunteering. I bring organisation, accountability and energy to the role, ensuring the opportunities we have are impactful, well-run and rewarding for all students. I will actively promote volunteering, create initiatives that respond to real community needs, and make sure every student involved are proud of the difference  they are making in the long term.
