Turkish Society: Treasurer

Hi everyone, I’m Sude.

From my very first year at university, I actively participated in Turkish Society events, and seeing the impact these gatherings had on people motivated me to take on more responsibility. This year, as Events Manager, I worked hard to help bring our community together through a variety of social and cultural events. My goal was always to create spaces where people could feel at home, build friendships, and stay connected to their culture. I hope our committee has succeeded in doing that. Now, in my final year, I want to contribute even more by running for Treasurer.

Through my experience on the committee, I’ve gained a clear understanding of how much thoughtful financial planning goes into making our events successful. As Treasurer, I would approach this role with responsibility, transparency, and long-term thinking. I’m especially motivated to help secure additional funding, explore sponsorship opportunities, and strengthen our financial foundation so that Turkish Society can grow even further. I want us to reach more students, collaborate more widely, and create even bigger events while still maintaining the warm atmosphere that makes our society special.

Most importantly, I want every member to feel welcomed, connected, and valued. I would be honoured to continue serving this community as Treasurer and to support our team in building an even stronger, more inclusive society.
