Every journey matters. This president will make society inclusive to everyone's favourite mode of transport, whether that's the Elizabeth line, Overground, Underground, trams, buses, or even your own two wheels or feet. The events I'll be organising next year will reflect that. There's something for everyone! Vote Matthew for:
- Walking tours around London
- Heritage bus rides, visits to bus depot open days and museums
- Croydon tram and bus challenge
- Visits further afield, such as to the York Railway Museum, Didcot and Locomotion
- Visits to the London Transport Museum at Covent Garden and Acton
- Visits to the Ruislip Lido Railway, Epping Ongar Railway and Bluebell Railway
- Speaker events and panels with transport industry professionals
- Events with people like Jago Hazzard and Luke Agbaimoni from the Tube Mapper Project
- Any other ideas, let me know!
As president, I'll be steering society's direction to make sure that everyone has something they'd love to participate in. It's nice to serve a society I love so much and to see it grow and flourish. Also, as someone who's been to many new station and bus route openings and am an avid train enthusiast myself, I can talk about all things TfL and transport-related non-stop!
If there is one thing I love in the world, it is trains and transport!
I love TfL and genuinely care about what this society represents and what it can become. To me, TfL is more than just a shared interest in transport, it’s a home for transport enthusiasts like you and me.
My priority will be to serve you with integrity and compassion. As President, I’ll make sure the only thing we’re catching is fare dodgers and good vibes :)
I have four main goals for TfL Society if elected, to make this home of ours an even better one:
- More network tours and tickets to places such as Acton Depot, Ruislip Lido Railway, The Postal Museum and Siemens' Rail Village and explore new places for us to enjoy! Under my leadership, I would push to visit Didcot Railway Centre as one of the first new places.
- More speaker sessions with transport enthusiasts like Jago Hazzard and Francis Bourgeois and fun socials such as Mafia (Fare Dodgers style!) and Hide and Seek on the tube.
- Involve you more closely in decision-making processes to ensure that you have a voice in shaping events.
- Reach beyond our current circle and grow awareness of the TfL brand across UCL.
Most importantly, I want to help shape TfL into a society we can truly be proud of, inclusive in spirit, and ambitious in vision. I’m ready to commit the time, energy, and dedication to make that happen.
I am confident that as President, I will serve you well and we will have an amazing and fun time! Join me in this journey! Let's do this together! :)
