Tamil Society: Treasurer

I’m standing for treasurer because I believe strong finances are the backbone of a successful society. Great events, guest speakers, cultural celebrations, and collaborations all rely on careful budgeting and smart financial planning. As Treasurer, I want to ensure every pound we receive, whether from memberships, UCL funding, or sponsorships, is used efficiently, transparently, and to maximise value for our members. My priority would be to create clear budgets for each term, track spending closely, and ensure we stay financially sustainable throughout the year. I want to explore more sponsorship opportunities and external partnerships so we can host bigger and better events without increasing costs for members. At the same time, I would focus on keeping events affordable and accessible, so finances never become a barrier to participation. I would provide regular updates to the committee on our financial position and ensure that reimbursement and payment processes are smooth and well-organised. I’m standing because I’m responsible, detail-oriented, and committed to making sure Tamil Society not only thrives culturally and socially but is financially secure and well-managed behind the scenes.
